Can I Have A Soul Clap?

Well, I was faced with a dilemma this week folks - I ordered a load of new records before the bank holiday (including a 7" that was pencilled in to be our featured record) and they *still* haven't turned up! So, at the last minute I had to make a snap decision - forget the feature, or find another (older) record to use instead.
In retrospect, it was hardly a big deal really - I'd recently been having discussions via email with DJ HogOne (Fresh Chris) about the golden age of hip hop, and last week he sent me a mixtape with Soul Clap in a rather tasty blend with some other old school block party beats; and this ended up being the main inspiration behind today's show. Soul Clap has been in my collection for years (along with some of the other classics I've recently rediscovered), but until digging it out this week I'd forgotten what a rocking EP it is - the entire 12" still sounds fresh with Jazzy Jay behind the boards, Diamon D and Showbiz on production and Andre the Giant and Lord Finesse MCing. A timeless masterpiece.
Regarding the show, I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I'm happy with my vocal, Smoove's mix is superb, and Pinks' deviation from reggae and dub made a welcome change...
